AL leader Humayun passed away

Ex-presidium member and advisory council member of Awami League (AL) Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun passed away Saturday. He was 88.

The Former Bhola 2 MP breathed his last at 6pm while undergoing treatment at Square Hospital in the capital.
 
Yusuf Hossain Humayun held several key positions in the legal and political spheres over a long career. He was ex-president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, former vice-chairman of the Bangladesh Bar Council, former chairman of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS). 

Born on November 14, 1936 in Sadar Upazila of Bhola, he maintained a long association with the legal profession and national politics.

During the Liberation War, he was active in organising student and political movements across Barisal and Dhaka, according to contemporaries.
