DSCC acting executive engr suspended

The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has suspended its acting Executive Engineer Golam Kibria Rubel following allegations of tender manipulation, irregularities in shop allocation, abuse of power and various other acts of misconduct.

According to an office order issued on Monday, Rubel, additional executive engineer of Zone-7 under the Market Construction Cell who was serving as acting executive engineer, has been relieved of all official duties pending an investigation.

The order said multiple complaints had been received against him regarding alleged irregularities and misconduct in the execution of tender-related activities, management and allocation of shops, and other administrative matters under his jurisdiction.

DSCC authorities said an investigation into the allegations is currently underway.

In the interest of ensuring a fair and impartial inquiry, Rubel has been attached to the office of the Chief Executive Officer and placed under suspension from all official responsibilities until the investigation is completed.    �"UNB
