Dengue mosquito larvae have been found in 60 per cent of households under the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), indicating a growing risk of dengue transmission in the capital.

The alarming information was disclosed by DSCC Administrator Abdus Salam on Friday at an Eid reunion programme held at Silverdale Kindergarten School and High School in Wari under the DSCC.

"Dengue mosquito larvae have been found in 60 per cent of households under the corporation's jurisdiction, highlighting the increasing risk of dengue transmission in the capital," he said.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and take preventive measures to stop mosquito breeding.

"Everyone must ensure that water does not accumulate in courtyards, rooftops, flower pots, or any other containers. Without public awareness and participation, it will not be possible to protect ourselves from dengue," he added.
