Former army major Mohammad Sadikul Haque Sadik has been shown arrested in an Anti-Terrorism Act case filed with Khilkhet Police Station in Dhaka.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Arifur Rahman passed the order on Tuesday following a police petition.
The development came after a court recently rejected a plea to show Sadik arrested in another Anti-Terrorism Act case over the burning of a private car in Vatara. His lawyer had said Sadik was already in jail when the incident occurred.
Sadik, who was dismissed from the army, was sentenced by a military court to three months in prison in October 2024. He has remained behind bars since then after being shown arrested in another terrorism case.
According to the Khilkhet case statement, several former army personnel were detained near Khilkhet Bazar on May 17 last year over alleged subversive activities. The case alleges that they used a social media platform to make provocative statements against the army and undermine its reputation and security.
