The government has appointed Bangladesh Bank Executive Director Md Sarwar Hossain as a Deputy Governor on a three-year contractual basis, subject to his voluntary retirement and suspension of post-retirement leave (PRL), according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday.
The notification, signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Md Safi Ullah by order of the President, said the appointment has been made under Article 10(4) of the Bangladesh Bank Order, 1972.
It said Sarwar Hossain will serve as Deputy Governor for three years from the date of joining the post.
The notification also stated that the remaining terms and conditions of his appointment will be determined through a formal contract.
The order, issued in the public interest, takes immediate effect.
