The American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) and the US Embassy in Bangladesh jointly celebrated the 250th anniversary of US independence at the Sheraton Dhaka on Saturday, reaffirming the strong partnership between the two countries and their commitment to expanding trade, investment and economic cooperation.

Speaking at the event, Syed Mohammad Kamal, President of AmCham, highlighted the opportunities to increase bilateral trade and investment. He also reiterated AmCham's commitment to improving the business environment for US investors in Bangladesh.

Brent T Christensen, US Ambassador to Bangladesh, reaffirmed the United States' commitment to strengthening economic cooperation and praised AmCham for its role in promoting commercial ties between the two countries.

Mahdi Amin, Adviser and Spokesperson to the Prime Minister's Office, said Bangladesh offers strong investment potential and is carrying out reforms to ensure policy stability and a business-friendly environment.

He encouraged greater US investment in key sectors, saying it would help bring technology transfer and create employment opportunities.
