Bangla QR processes 77,165 transactions worth Tk 22.02cr in 2 days

Bangladesh's interoperable digital payment platform, Bangla QR, processed 77,165 transactions amounting to Taka 22.02 crore during June 30 and July 1, reflecting the growing adoption of QR code-based digital payments across the country.

According to Bangladesh Bank data, transactions totaling Tk 22.02 crore were carried out over the two-day period, reflecting growing public acceptance of the central bank-backed interoperable payment system.

Bangla QR enables customers of participating banks and mobile financial service providers to make seamless merchant payments by scanning a single QR code, regardless of the payment service provider they use.

The platform is designed to promote cashless transactions, improve interoperability in the digital payments ecosystem, and enhance financial inclusion.
