Bangladesh is set to experience several more days of heavy monsoon rain as an active monsoon, a low-pressure system over eastern India and a strong pressure gradient over the Bay of Bengal continue to trigger widespread rainfall across the country.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, in most parts of the country through July 10. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected, particularly in Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions.

The weather office has warned of possible landslides in the hilly districts of Chattogram Division and temporary waterlogging in Chattogram city due to intense rainfall.
