The Parjatak Express bound for Cox's Bazar was temporarily halted on Tuesday after rainwater submerged railway tracks in Chattogram.

According to railway officials, the train stopped near Sholoshahar Station around 1:30pm after heavy rainfall caused waterlogging on the tracks. The driver halted the train to avoid the risk of water entering the locomotive and causing a mechanical failure.

Railway authorities said train services on the affected section remained suspended while the situation was being monitored.

Officials were preparing to bring in another locomotive to pull the train back to Chattogram to minimise passenger inconvenience.
