Dear Sir,
With around 16,000 to 18,000 students enrolled, Islamic University (IU) urgently needs a modern pharmacy, as the absence of a full-fledged facility has become a serious concern.
Although the university has a medical centre with qualified doctors, it mainly supplies common medicines such as Napa, Histasin and antacids. As a result, students often refer to it as the “Napa Centre”. When doctors prescribe specialised or non-government medicines, students must travel about 22km to Kushtia or 24km to Jhenaidah to purchase them, causing inconvenience and posing risks during emergencies.
A modern on-campus pharmacy with an adequate supply of government and non-government medicines would greatly improve healthcare services for students and staff. I sincerely urge the university administration and the Health Minister to take immediate steps to establish this essential facility.
