MP Dipen Dewan Visits Kaptai Shelter Centre

Govt stands by people in times of disaster

KAPTAI, RANGAMATI, July 9: The Bangladesh Nationalist government has always stood and will continue to stand by everyone in all disasters and development efforts. The current government is committed to implementing all electoral promises in the hill tracts region. 

Advocate Dipen Dewan, MP, former minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs and representative of Rangamati's 299th constituency, made the above remarks addressing everyone during his visit to the shelter centre at Kaptai High School on Thursday at 2:30 pm.

For the past week, due to heavy rainfall in Kaptai Upazila, residents living on hazardous slopes of hills have been moving to safe shelters. During his visit, MP Dipen Dewan listened to the concerns of the people who had come to the shelter centre. He told everyone that the current government is working to fulfil its electoral promises. "We are with you and will remain with you in all development efforts, problems, and disasters," he said.

On this occasion, Dipen Dewan inspected the shelter centres and distributed lunch meals among everyone. He also visited the free medical camp organised by the 10-bed hospital for the shelter residents and discussed medical-related matters with the doctor.

Rayhanul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Kaptai Police Station Mahmud Hasan Rubel, Rangamati District BNP Senior Vice-President Saiful Islam Panir, Joint Secretary Md. Dilwar Hossain, District BNP Member Abu Bakkar Siddique Abu, Kaptai Upazila BNP President Lokman Ahmed, General Secretary Md. Yasin Mamun, Kaptai Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Muhammad Harunur Rashid, former general secretary of Rangamati District Jatiyatabadi Chatra Dal Ali Akbar Sumon, Kaptai Upazila BNP Organising Secretary Uthai Mong Marma, Kaptai Union BNP President Md. Yusuf, Secretary Kamal Hakim, along with leaders from district, upazila, and union BNP and its associate organisations.
