Stand by flood-hit people

Dear Sir,

Banshkhali Upazila in Chattogram is facing a severe humanitarian crisis as continuous heavy rainfall, hill torrents and tidal surges have inundated several unions. Thousands of families have lost their homes, crops and livestock, while many remain in shelters or on higher ground. They urgently need safe food, clean drinking water, medicine and other essentials.

Although social organisations, volunteers, students, expatriates and individuals have provided relief, many families, especially in remote and hilly areas, are still waiting for assistance.

I earnestly appeal to affluent individuals, industrialists, elected representatives, expatriates, charitable organisations, and all people of goodwill to extend their support. Let us ensure that no family goes hungry, no child lacks safe drinking water, and no sick or elderly person suffers due to a shortage of medicine. Standing beside the flood-affected people of Banshkhali is our humanitarian responsibility.
