Youth found dead in Noakhali

NOAKHALI, July 12: Police have recovered the body of a young man from a pond near his house in the Mazar Road area of Ward No. 1 of Ekhlaspur Union in Begumganj Upazila of the district on Sunday morning, two days after he went missing.

The deceased Abul Hossain, 32, was the son of late Babul of the union.

It is known that Abul Hossain went missing from a wedding ceremony on Friday night. On Sunday morning, locals saw a body floating in a pond near the house and informed the police. Later, the police recovered the body and sent it to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital morgue for an autopsy in the afternoon.

Officer-in-Charge of Begumganj Police Station Mohammad Shamsuzzaman confirmed the death.
