Four people found dead in four districts

Four persons were found dead in separate incidents in Brahmanbaria, Narayanganj, Noakhali and Gopalganj districts in three days.

BRAHMANBARIA: Police have recovered the body of an unidentified person, 50, from the Paikpara Beel area of Harashpur Union in Bijoynagar Upazila of the district on Wednesday morning.

Local people saw a body floating in a beel filled with hyacinths on the south side of the Paikpara Bridge. Later, the police recovered the body and sent it to the Brahmanbaria District Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bijoynagar Police Station (PS) Md Ahsan Ullah said that the real cause of death will be known after receiving the autopsy report. At the same time, efforts are underway to identify the deceased.

NARAYANGANJ: Police have recovered the hanging body of a policeman from the fourth floor of Kamal Haji's rented house next to Isdair Temple in Fatulla of Narayanganj Sadar Upazila on Tuesday night.

The deceased Abu Hanif was a resident of Isapur Village in Kalihati Upazila of Tangail District and an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) at Narayanganj District Police Lines.

Fatulla Model PS OC Mahbub Alam said that Abu Hanif lived with his speech-impaired wife. He was on a 5-day leave due to illness. The body has been sent to the Victoria General Hospital morgue for an autopsy. The cause of his death will be known after the autopsy report arrives. The District Superintendent of Police has visited the scene after receiving the information.

NOAKHALI: Police have recovered the decomposed body of an elderly man from a pond in Binnaguni Village of Ward No. 7 in Senbag Municipality of the district on Monday night, three days after he went missing while visiting his sister in Senbag.

The deceased Abul Kashem, 60, was the son of late Nur Mia of Chandpur Village in Ward No. 7 of Kadra Union No. 4 of the upazila.

Locals said that Abul Kashem was admitted to the Senbag Upazila Health Complex on July 23 being ill. Later, he went to visit his sister at her house in Binnaguni Village with a cannula in his hand. He went missing from there. His relatives searched at various places but could not find any trace of him. 

Locals found a body near the pond after smelling a foul smell on Monday evening. Later, on receiving information, the police recovered the body and sent it to the Noakhali 250-bed General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Senbag PS OC Abdur Rahim Sarkar said Abul Kashem was mentally ill.

GOPALGANJ: The police have recovered the body of a policeman from a pond in his father-in-law’s house in Paikkandi area of Gopalganj Sadar Upazila on Tuesday morning. 

Deceased BM Mahmudul Islam, 38, was working as an SI (Armed) in 6 APBN Mahalchhari, Khagrachhari and was the son of Haider Ali Bhuiyan of Bijoypasha Village in Gopalganj Sadar Upazila. The police have detained his wife and father-in-law for questioning.

Locals saw a body floating in a pond near the father-in-law's house and informed the police. The police recovered the body around 8:30 am and sent it to the 250-bed Gopalganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Gopalganj Sadar PS OC Aminul Islam confirmed the incident.
