Standard Islami Bank PLC organized a daylong workshop titled "Shari’ah Compliance in Banking Operations" at its Head Office.
The bank’s Managing Director, Riad Mahmud Chowdhury, presided over the event. Mufti Mohammad Muhibbullahil Baqee An-Nadwi, Chairman of the bank’s Shari’ah Supervisory Committee, attended the program as the Chief Guest, while Professor Dr. Hafiz Muztaba Riza Ahmed, a member of the same committee, was present as the Special Guest.
Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Additional Managing Director of the bank, conducted the workshop.
In his keynote address, Mufti Muhibbullahil Baqee An-Nadwi underscored the importance of maintaining ethical standards and professionalism within the framework of Islamic banking.
Professor Dr. Hafiz Muztaba Riza Ahmed elaborated on the core requirements and procedures essential for strict adherence to Shari’ah principles in modern banking operations.
The event was attended by officials from the Shari’ah Secretariat Division and heads of various departments from the Head Office. Branch managers, operations managers, and investment in-charges from across the bank’s network also participated in the session.
