Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC has organized a month-long specialized 'Entrepreneurship Development Training Program' aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and supporting the sustainable growth of the Cottage, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (CMSME) sector.
The program is being held in Jhalakathi under the initiative of the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) of the SME Special Program Department (SMESPD) of Bangladesh Bank, in collaboration with the Al-Arafah Islami Bank Training Institute (AIBTI).
The inaugural ceremony of the training program was held on Monday. Md. Masum Billah, Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank and Program Director of the Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP-SICIP), attended the event as the Chief Guest.
Jhalakathi Zila Parishad Administrator Advocate Md. Shahadat Hossain, Bangladesh Bank Joint Director and SICIP Deputy Program Director Ayub Ali, and Jhalakathi Zila Parishad Chief Executive Officer Md. Emran Shahriar attended as Special Guests. Md. Abdur Rahim Duary, Principal and SEVP of the Al-Arafah Islami Bank Training Institute (AIBTI), presided over the inaugural session.
Speaking as the Chief Guest, Md. Masum Billah stated that the training is designed to enhance the business capabilities of CMSME entrepreneurs by fostering innovation, encouraging technology-driven practices, and improving industrial competitiveness.
He urged participants to utilize the acquired skills to generate employment and contribute to the nation’s economic development.
During the session, Ayub Ali provided a detailed overview of the program's objectives, implementation strategies, and expected outcomes.
The 20-working-day training curriculum covers a wide array of topics, including business plan preparation, financial management, SME financing, digital marketing, e-commerce, legal compliance, and sustainable business practices.
Organizers expressed confidence that this initiative will play a vital role in creating a new generation of entrepreneurs and bolstering the country's industrial sector.
