Two more people have died after contracting Aedes mosquito-borne dengue fever, while 391 new infections were reported across Bangladesh over the past 24 hours.
The information was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to the statement, two deaths were reported in the Dhaka South City Corporation during the reporting period.
The victim were women aged between 0 to 5 as well as 45 and 50 years. With the latest fatalities, the country’s dengue death toll has risen to 30 this year.
The DGHS also said that a total of 9,370 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals so far this year. Of them, 8,458 have been discharged after recovery, while 880 patients are currently undergoing treatment at hospitals across the country. The highest number of hospitalised patients�"220�"is receiving treatment in the Barishal Division.
