A key oil facility in Kuwait has been severely damaged following what authorities described as a series of Iranian attacks, according to the state-run Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), citing the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC).
In a statement issued on Saturday (July 18), KPC said the strategic oil sector site was targeted in repeated strikes, causing extensive damage to the facility and injuring several workers.
The corporation said emergency response teams acted immediately after the attack, providing necessary medical assistance to the injured and evacuating civilians from the site to ensure their safety.
The extent of the damage and the impact on Kuwait's oil production were not immediately disclosed. Authorities have not released further details regarding the number of casualties or the circumstances surrounding the attack.
