Govt Cancels Licences of 49 Recruiting Agencies

The government has cancelled the licences of 49 recruiting agencies for alleged irregularities in sending workers abroad, violation of licence conditions and breaches of laws related to overseas employment and migration.

The Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment issued a notification on Sunday, stating that the decision has come into immediate effect.

According to the notification, complaints were received against the agencies for violating the terms and conditions of recruiting agency approval and licences, as well as provisions of the Overseas Employment and Migrants Act, 2013, the Overseas Employment and Migration (Amendment) Act, 2023, and other relevant laws.

The ministry also said charge sheets had been submitted before courts against some of the agencies under different sections of the Penal Code, 1860. Considering these issues, their licences were cancelled under Section 13 of the Overseas Employment and Migrants Act, 2013.

Among the cancelled agencies are Unique Eastern (Pvt) Limited, Orbitals Enterprise, Shaheen Travels, Irving Enterprise, Haidary Trade International, Rabby International, Jaharat Associates, Foresight International Limited, Binimoy International, Akash Bhraman Limited, Q.K. Quick Express Limited, United Export Limited, GMG Trading (Pvt) Limited, Sadia International, The Super Eastern Limited, Elegants Overseas Limited, Catharsis International, Midway Overseas Limited, Medina Overseas, Al-Khamis International, New Age International, Galaxy Corporation, Sultan Overseas, Prabhati International, Manpower Corporation, Amin Tours and Travels, Ahmed International and several others.

The ministry said action against organisations involved in irregularities will continue in accordance with the law to ensure discipline in the overseas employment sector and protect the interests of aspiring migrant workers.
