DAULATPUR, KUSHTIA, July 24: Miscreants have allegedly hacked a tea seller to death in the Dharmadaha area of Adabaria Union in Daulatpur Upazila of the district on Thursday night.
The deceased Samirul Shah, 65, was the son of late Bisharad Shah of Tekala Paschimpara Village in the upazila.
Locals found his body lying in a bloody state on a bamboo pole beside the Bangahari-Dharmadaha road on Friday morning and informed the police. Later, Tekala police camp members recovered the body and sent it to the Kushtia General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
According to local and family sources, Samirul Shah's family had come from Gangni Upazila of neighbouring Meherpur District and had been living in the area for a long time.
Officer-in-Charge of Daulatpur Police Station Khaledur Rahman said that multiple injury marks from sharp weapons were found on his body and face.
