French, German envoys meet NCP leaders

Ambassador of France to Bangladesh Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet and Chargé d’Affaires of Germany Anja Kersten met with National Citizen Party (NCP) delegation led by its Convener and Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam at the NCP central office in Bangla Motor, Dhaka, on Monday.

They discussed Bangladesh's post-election political landscape, state reforms and bilateral cooperation. According to the NCP, the discussions focused on the country's post-election political situation, the party's role in Parliament, implementation of fundamental state reforms, and issues of mutual interest concerning Bangladesh's relations with the European Union.

The two sides also exchanged views on the regional situation, Indo-Pacific cooperation, Bangladesh's overall economic outlook and opportunities to expand economic partnership.

The NCP delegation included party Spokesperson Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, International Affairs Cell In-charge Alauddin Mohammad, and International Affairs Cell member Navid Nowroz Shah.

The party said both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening communication and cooperation on issues of shared interest with a view to further deepening Bangladesh's relations with the European Union, France and Germany.
