CHATTOGRAM July 27: Police have filed a sabotage case against 54 people over the alleged contamination of the water supply at Alinagar Police Outpost in Jungle Salimpur in Chattogram's Sitakunda.
Sitakunda Police Station lodged the case on Sunday night naming 34 accused and also mentioning 20 unidentified people.
Officer-in-Charge Md Mohinul Islam told the local journalists that the police force have launched an investigation into the alleged sabotage.
The name of Yasin, the alleged leader of the saboteurs known as Yasin Bahini in Jungle Salimpur, has been named as an accused.
Earlier around 300 members of the police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) are stationed at the camp, which receives its water supply through storage tanks.
The motor operator on duty noticed a strong foul smell and unusual signs in the water while starting the supply before dawn on Sunday.
