Bangladesh will be among the first countries to screen Marvel and Sony Pictures' latest Spider-Man film, with audiences set to watch it on 30 July, a day before its 31 July release in the United States. 

The early release gives Bangladeshi fans a rare opportunity to experience the film ahead of American audiences, with the dates confirmed by STAR Cineplex, Marvel and Sony Pictures.

The title Spider-Man: Brand New Day is more than just a name "it is a nod to one of Marvel's most significant Spider-Man comic storylines. Published in 2008 after the events of One More Day, Brand New Day introduced a fresh chapter in Peter Parker's life. 

Although the film is not a direct adaptation of the comic arc, Marvel's choice of title signals a new beginning for the character following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day picks up after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Doctor Strange's spell erased the world's memory of Peter Parker, leaving him to rebuild his life from scratch.

Unlike the previous trilogy, which centred on Peter's relationships with friends, mentors and fellow superheroes, Brand New Day begins with Peter starting over in a world where no one remembers who he is. 

While Marvel and Sony describe it as the next phase of his story, they have not officially referred to it as Tom Holland's first "solo" Spider-Man film.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day also marks a change behind the camera, with Destin Daniel Cretton succeeding Jon Watts, who directed the previous Spider-Man trilogy. 

Best known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Cretton has said Marvel's filmmaking process places character development and emotional storytelling at the heart of its films, even amid large-scale action sequences. That approach is expected to shape Peter Parker's next adventure.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has described Spider-Man: Brand New Day as the beginning of "an entirely new chapter" for Peter Parker.

According to Marvel's official synopsis, four years have passed since Peter chose to erase himself from the memories of those he loves, leaving him to live alone in New York while dedicating himself fully to protecting the city as Spider-Man.

Marvel Studios' presentation at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 offered more than exclusive footage from Spider-Man: Brand New Day. 

Led by Kevin Feige, the Hall H showcase positioned the film as the immediate lead-in to Avengers: Doomsday, highlighting its importance within Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Academy Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino returns to score Spider-Man: Brand New Day, continuing the musical identity he established across the previous three MCU Spider-Man films. 

Speaking at Comic-Con, Giacchino said the score reflects Peter Parker's loneliness after No Way Home, stripping back familiar themes to match the character's emotional journey.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day begins with Peter Parker facing an entirely new reality. With the world "including MJ, Ned and the Avengers "having forgotten who he is, Peter must rebuild his life from the ground up. 

Marvel's official synopsis describes him living alone in New York and devoting himself fully to crime-fighting, making this a markedly different stage in his journey.

Bangladesh has become an increasingly important destination for major Hollywood releases, with international studios regularly including the country in their global theatrical rollouts. 

The arrival of Spider-Man: Brand New Day a day before its US release continues that trend and highlights the country's growing importance in the international cinema market.

Marvel Studios has backed the film with one of its biggest marketing campaigns in recent years. The studio says the first trailer became the most-viewed trailer launch in history, while advance ticket sales opened weeks before release.
