The autopsy report of veteran Indian actor Nana Patekar has confirmed that he died of natural causes after a blood clot blocked a major coronary artery, cutting off blood supply to his heart, according to Goa Police.
A team of doctors at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) conducted the post-mortem examination and identified the cause of death as an acute myocardial infarction resulting from coronary artery disease.
The 75-year-old actor reportedly felt unwell in the early hours of Thursday (October 8) and informed a family friend about his condition. He was taken to Manipal Hospital in Dona Paula, Goa, where doctors attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for around 45 minutes but failed to revive him.
Goa Police said the final report ruled out foul play and confirmed a natural cause of death. The actor’s family has been informed of the findings and has not raised any objections, according to police.
Patekar was cremated with full state honours at his farmhouse in Donje village in Pune district on Thursday.
