
KHULNA, Aug 4: MP for Khulna-2 and Khulna-6 reserved seats Fahmida Haque said the housing, commercial complex, community centre and road connectivity projects undertaken by the Khulna Development Authority (KDA) would transform the future landscape of the city.
She said the initiatives, including overpasses and wider roads, are timely to ease traffic congestion and improve communication across the city amid growing urbanisation.
“The Prime Minister has instructed that all development works must be completed within the stipulated time without irregularities or corruption, while maintaining quality and ensuring transparency so that city residents do not suffer unnecessarily,” she said.
The MP made the remarks after reviewing KDA’s ongoing and planned development projects through a visual presentation at the authority’s conference room on Tuesday morning.
She was received by KDA Chairman Advocate SM Shafiqul Alam Mona on her arrival at the KDA office. Later, she exchanged views with KDA board members and officials at a meeting chaired by the KDA chairman.
Fahmida Haque said equitable development would be ensured across the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and pledged to raise the demands of the neglected Khulna region in the Jatiya Sangsad.
She also assured full support for the implementation of KDA’s development plans and said she would work with the relevant ministries to secure necessary assistance for projects aimed at improving the lives of Khulna residents.
Senior KDA officials, including Member (Estate) Md Iqbal Hossain, Member (Administration and Finance) MM Mahmudur Rahman, Member (Development) Ruhul Amin Kutubuddin Ahmad, Chief Engineer (Acting) Kazi Md Sabirul Alam were present at the programme.
