New secretaries appointed to four ministries

The government has appointed new secretaries to the ministries of Housing and Public Works, Disaster Management and Relief, Primary and Mass Education, and the Energy and Mineral Resources Department.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on Thursday (August 6) announcing the appointments.

Md Obaidur Rahman, formerly a joint secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration, has been appointed secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works. He previously served as secretary of the Ministry of Industries.

Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Jasmine Nahar has been promoted to secretary and appointed to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. The ministry's outgoing secretary, Md Sakhawat Hossain, has been attached to the Ministry of Public Administration.

Mohammad Saiful Islam, secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Department, has been transferred to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.

Meanwhile, Additional Secretary Md Ziaul Haque has been promoted to secretary and posted to the Energy and Mineral Resources Department.
