Parts of woman’s body recovered in city

Police have recovered parts of unidentified young woman’s body in Dhaka’s Sabujbagh.

The remains were found beneath a culvert beside the Madertek Baganbari Canal around 8am on Thursday, Sabujbagh Police Station chief Nur Alam Siddiqui said.

He said officers recovered the victim’s head and two hands from a shopping bag found in a pile of rubbish beneath the culvert.

Police have yet to recover the rest of the body, but are continuing their search, he said. 

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been asked to assist with forensic examinations to establish the woman’s identity.-bdnews24
