Adulterated milk factory found in Pabna, owner fined

A mobile court has conducted a raid on an adulterated milk factory in Chatmohar of Pabna and seized 30 liters of adulterated milk.

The factory was owned by a man named Kamal, 35. He was fined Tk 20,000 and jailed.

Kamal is the son of Moilur Rahman of Boailmari Paschimpara village in Saikola Union of the upazila.

According to court statement, Kamal had allegedly been producing tainted milk at his factory for a long time using detergent, soybean oil and jelly. He had been supplying the contaminated milk to Dhaka and other parts.

On Friday (August 8) around 8:00PM, Chatmohar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Faisal Mahmud conducted a raid on Kamal’s adulterated milk factory and seized 30 liters of tainted milk.

The owner was detained and produced before the mobile court. Faisal Mahmud’s court fined him Tk 20,000, with three months’ imprisonment in default of payment.

Kamal was released after paying the fine.

The court destroyed the seized 30 liters of adulterated milk by dumping it into a nearby pond.
