Police have arrested six leaders and activists of the Awami League and its affiliate Bangladesh Chhatra League, whose activities are banned, while they were holding a secret meeting at a restaurant in Dhaka’s Gulshan area.
They were arrested from a restaurant on the fifth floor of Police Plaza on Friday night, according to a press release issued by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Media and Public Relations Division.
The arrestees are Mehedi Masud Chowdhury, general secretary of the Chaugachha upazila unit of the Awami League in Jashore; SM Rezwan Habib Alif, a member of the same unit; and Aminur Rahman, an activist of the unit.
