Four more children died from measles and measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours from 8am Friday to 8am Saturday, raising the total number of deaths from the disease and its symptoms to 867 since March 15.
Meanwhile, 776 people were affected by measles and measles-like symptoms during the period. Of them, 99 were diagnosed with measles, while 677 showed measles-like symptoms.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed the figures in its measles-related report released on Saturday.
In Dhaka, two people died after being diagnosed with measles, while two others died with measles-like symptoms.
Since March 15, a total of 769 deaths have been reported among people with measles-like symptoms, while 98 people have died after being diagnosed with measles, according to the DGHS.
Data from the health directorate showed that 135,332 people have developed measles-like symptoms since March 15 this year.
During the same period, 17,040 people were diagnosed with measles, bringing the total number affected by measles and measles-like symptoms to 152,372.
Since March 15, a total of 117,444 people with measles-like symptoms have been admitted to hospitals, while 113,200 patients have been discharged.
