Iran sets tough terms to open Strait of Hormuz amid high tension

Iran has moved on to the driving seat of the US-Iran war as they set tough new conditions on Saturday regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
At the same time, UAE has reported a missile which struck one of its vessels. Reports The Guardian.
The Iranian Supreme National Security Council declared that the waterway will remain closed until the US ‘corrects its behavior.’
Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, secretary of the council and an IRGC commander, demanded a permanent end to US military action against Iran and its allies.
He also called for a complete troop withdrawal, lifting of the naval blockade, full war compensation, and unconditional unfreezing of assets.
Previously, both sides were near a transit route agreement. However, recent escalation of the war has changed Iranian demands. FM Abbas Araghchi stated that reopening the waterway depends on wider conditions, accusing Washington of violating an interim agreement.
Meanwhile, Emirati authorities confirmed a missile fired by Iran struck a commercial vessel owned by Abu Dhabi's state oil firm Adnoc. Although no casualties were reported, Adnoc noted over a dozen of its vessels have faced missile and drone strikes since US-Israeli operations began in February.
Separately, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations reported a projectile struck a vessel east of Khasab, Oman, causing a minor fire.
Oman continues to mediate the talks, reporting a positive atmosphere while condemning attacks on commercial shipping. The 60-day negotiation window ends in just over a week.
