Nusrat Faria returns with web film 'Lapatta'

After a brief hiatus from acting, popular actress Nusrat Faria has returned to sets with a new over-the-top (OTT) web film titled Lapatta.

Directed by Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, the web film features Faria in the lead role. The project is scheduled to premiere on the OTT platform iScreen during the upcoming Durga Puja festival.

Director Hridoy confirmed that principal photography commenced on Saturday at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) premises. Following the initial schedule at BFDC, the crew will embark on a 10-day outdoor shoot across various locations, including Old Dhaka, Purbachal, the 300-Feet Expressway, and areas outside the capital.

Faria joined the set on the first day alongside co-star Nasir Uddin Khan. The film's production team expressed confidence that the story's unique narrative structure and visual execution will resonate with viewers.

Speaking about her character, Faria expressed optimism about leading a narrative-driven project. She noted that the combination of suspense, thrill, and emotional depth will offer audiences a fresh viewing experience.

Lapatta marks another addition to Faria's growing OTT portfolio, following her previous appearances in Shihab Shahin’s Jodi Kintu Tobuo and the critically acclaimed film Patalghar.

When asked about selecting Lapatta for her return, Faria highlighted the script's blend of comedy and thrill, noting that well-crafted comedy-thrillers have a strong appeal on digital platforms. She also expressed excitement about sharing the screen with acclaimed actors Shahriar Nazim Joy and Nasir Uddin Khan.

Beyond her acting endeavors, Faria has maintained an active presence in live performances and music. Having recently performed at a show in Dubai, she is slated to perform in London next month. Additionally, the artist announced that she has prepared two new original tracks for her fans.
