Eight persons have been arrested for reportedly collecting money from those who apply for passports in Dhaka on Monday morning by promising to get their passports done faster.
These eight persons have been arrested by RAB-2 during an operation at the Agargaon Passport Office at about 9:00 AM on Monday (August 10).
Lt Commander Saeed Mahmud of RAB-2 said that legal actions will be taken against anyone among the passport office officials who is found to be associated with these persons.
In this connection, Ismail Hossain, Deputy Director of the Passport Office, said that some people have been punished with disciplinary action for their association with brokers.
He called upon service seekers not to get into the hands of brokers as there is no such fast-track procedure for getting passports from them.
