Four businesses fined at Baraigram

BARAIGRAM, NATORE, Aug 14: A mobile court conducted by Baraigram Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Zubair Jahangir on Thursday evening fined four businesses Tk 44,000 on various charges. District Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection assisted in the drive. 
At that time, Muzaffar Hossain, the owner of Mou Bakery in Kalikapur of Bonpara Municipality, was sentenced to 10 days of simple imprisonment for preparing food in a dirty environment and fined Tk 20,000.
Besides, Dhaka King Bakery was fined Tk 20,000 and Puja Store Tk 3,000 for not displaying the pricelist and Ajay Store was fined Tk 1,000 for not having a mandatory label on the packaging of food products.
Officials involved in the drive said that such campaigns will continue in the future in the public interest.
