Pakistan HC celebrates Independence Day

Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka on Friday celebrated the Pakistan Independence Day at the High Commission.
A number of Pakistani community members living in Bangladesh, students, journalists and members of civil society attended the event at the High Commission compound in Gulshan.
The formal proceedings began at 8:55am. Pakistan High Commissioner Imran Haider hoisted the national flag In his address, High Commissioner Imran Haider welcomed the guests for attending the celebration. 
Extending greetings to Pakistani citizens living in Bangladesh, Haider stressed the importance of national sovereignty and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace, progress and prosperity.
The High Commissioner also highlighted the positive trajectory of Bangladesh-Pakistan relations, with emphasis on expanding cooperation in trade, education, youth empowerment and people-to-people contact. He said diplomatic communication between the two countries had also increased, with regular engagement with various ministries of the Bangladesh government, Dhaka University and other institutions.
Later, Pakistani expatriates, guests and High Commission officials exchanged views at a social reception hosted on the occasion.
