LNG supply rises as Excelerate resumes operations

LNG supply to the national gas grid rose to 747 million cubic feet on Saturday after Excelerate Energy’s floating LNG terminal in Moheshkhali resumed partial operations following a brief disruption.

According to Petrobangla’s latest operational report, LNG supply to the national grid stood at 747 mmcf 
at 8am.

Engr Md Shoyeb, director of the Production Sharing Contract Division and also in charge of the Operation and Maintenance Division at Petrobangla, said Summit LNG was supplying nearly 500 mmcf, with Excelerate supplying the remainder.

Summit LNG Terminal resumed operations on Friday morning, restoring the supply of regasified LNG (R-LNG) to the national grid after a brief disruption the previous day caused by cargo-berthing difficulties.

The Summit and Excelerate LNG terminals have a combined regasification capacity of 1,100 mmcfd. However, their full capacity has remained unavailable due to recent operational disruptions.
