Public Service Commission (PSC) Chairman Prof Mobasser Monem has stepped down from his post citing physical illness on Tuesday (August 18).
PSC Public Relations Officer S M Motiur Rahman confirmed the news, stating that the chairman resigned due to health issues.
Prof Mobasser Monem was appointed as PSC chairman in October 2024 during the interim government.
When asked about his condition, the chairman's private secretary, Md Shahriar Rahman, said he is currently resting.
Following the 2024 mass uprising, former PSC Chairman Md Sohrab Hossain along with 12 commission members resigned, after which Prof Mobasser Monem, a professor of Public Administration at Dhaka University, was appointed to the post.
