Two found dead in two districts

Two persons were found dead in separate incidents in Jamalpur District and Shibchar Upazila of Madaripur District in two days.

JAMALPUR: The police have recovered the body of an auto-rickshaw driver from a ditch beside Mathabhanga intersection in Madarganj Upazila of the district on Thursday noon, three days after he went missing.

Deceased Johurul Islam, 50, was the son of late Toffazzal of Bakurchar Village in Gunaratala Union of the upazila.

According to police, Johurul was carrying passengers in his auto-rickshaw from Ghughumari area to Balijuri Bazar on Monday night and went missing on the way. Later, police recovered his auto-rickshaw in Amlitala area with chilli powder inside the vehicle. The family filed a written complaint with the police station on Tuesday night.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Madarganj Model Police Station (PS) Snehasish Roy said the body was sent to the Jamalpur morgue for an autopsy. The police initially suspect that Johurul was murdered.

SHIBCHAR, MADARIPUR: Police have recovered the body of an unidentified young woman, 20, from an abandoned place in the Bakharerkandi area of  Madbarer Char Union in Shibchar Upazila of the district on Wednesday afternoon. 

Police and local sources said that locals saw the body lying in an abandoned place adjacent to Darusunnah Islamia Madrasa in the area in the morning. Upon receiving the information, the police recovered the body.
