Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) Chairman and Member of Parliament for Bhola-1, Barrister Andaleeve Rahman Partha, is set to take charge as the Information Minister in the cabinet led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

He is expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony of new ministers and state ministers at Bangabhaban on Friday.

According to relevant sources, several new members are joining the cabinet. The list includes BNP Standing Committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan, Bandarban MP Saching Prue Jerry, and Gaibandha-4 (Gobindaganj) MP Mohammad Shamim Kaiser Lincoln.

Cabinet Division sources said several prospective ministers and state ministers have already been contacted. They were requested to be present at Bangabhaban in the evening. Newly elected President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will take his oath of office on Friday evening, after which the new cabinet members will be sworn in.

Currently, Zahir Uddin Swapon serves as the Minister for Information and Broadcasting. He is an MP from Barishal-1 (Gournadi-Agailjhara), an adviser to the BNP Chairperson, and the founding convener of the party's media cell. Reports suggest he may be reassigned to another ministry following the reshuffle.

Meanwhile, commenting on rumors about becoming the State Minister for Religious Affairs, MP Mohammad Shamim Kaiser Lincoln said, "We are also trying to find out details. We will know by 4:00 PM or 4:30 PM today. Actually, nothing can be confirmed until the final moment."

Similarly, Saching Prue Jerry said, "I received a phone call and was asked to be at Bangabhaban around 7:30 PM. That is all I can share right now."
