Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna has always held a unique charm on screen. Throughout his long acting career, he has captivated audiences with diverse roles.
Following the recent success of Dhurandhar, the actor is back in the spotlight. His upcoming film Ikka is also generating buzz. However, alongside his professional commitments, Akshaye's personal life frequently draws public interest.
Fans remain particularly curious about his decision never to marry. The actor addressed his choice to remain single back in 2019.
During an interview, Akshaye clearly stated his stance on marriage and parenthood. When asked if he had any future plans to marry, he offered a direct "no."
Explaining his decision, Akshaye said he never considered himself suitable for marriage.
"I cannot picture myself getting married. I am not marriage material, as people say. I am not cut out for that kind of lifestyle," he said.
Akshaye believes marriage brings major commitments and massive shifts in daily routine. He noted that marriage would drastically alter his personal freedom.
Regarding his independence, Akshaye said he prefers full control over his own life. Sharing life with someone else means relinquishing a portion of that control, a compromise he finds uncomfortable.
Beyond marriage, Akshaye also rejected the idea of having or adopting children. He believes becoming a parent completely shifts a person's priorities, making the child's needs paramount.
"Once a child arrives, everything else that was important to you becomes secondary. The child becomes everything. I do not want to bring that kind of change into my life," Akshaye explained.
He added that he was unprepared to compromise on his lifestyle and dismissed the possibility of changing his mind in the future.
His stance stems from no specific negative experience or past event. Since childhood, Akshaye has preferred spending time alone. His decision to stay unmarried reflects his overall personality and life philosophy.
Akshaye maintains the same independence in his career choices. Following standout roles in Drishyam 2, Chhaava, and Dhurandhar, he is set to appear in a dynamic new avatar.
He will portray the mythological character Shukracharya in director Prasanth Varma’s anticipated project Mahakali. The reveal of his first look - featuring a long white beard and a mysterious demeanor - has generated wide interest among fans.
Despite experimenting with diverse screen roles, Akshaye remains steadfast in his real-life decision on marriage. For him, personal freedom and living life on his own terms remain paramount.
