Popular TV presenter and actress Samia Afrin has been battling cancer for the past five years. She had previously overcome colon cancer.

However, the presenter has recently been diagnosed with cancer again. This time, uterine cancer has been detected in her body.

Samia Afrin herself revealed the news in an emotional post on social media on Sunday (August 23) night.

In a Social media post, Samia said, "she was diagnosed with cancer again around three months ago. She underwent surgery soon after to deal with the situation. Following various tests, doctors informed her that it was a high-grade carcinoma. As advised by her doctors, she is currently undergoing regular chemotherapy.

When she was first diagnosed with cancer, she did not need chemotherapy. She recovered after receiving treatment through immunotherapy. This time, therefore, the experience has been somewhat different for her.

Samia wrote, “I have been fighting cancer for the past five years. I did not need chemotherapy the first time; I underwent treatment through immunotherapy. So this experience is a little different for me. The doctor said chemotherapy may cause my hair to fall out. So instead of feeling sad about it, I have decided to accept it with a smile. There is no point in being upset about everything. The important thing is to adapt to yourself with time.”

The actress also spoke about her new look. She said, “Today, I decided to get a new haircut. I know that my hair may fall out after a few days. But before that happens, I wanted to celebrate my new look and motivate myself a little. I shared a short clip of this journey.”

Reflecting on her experience of battling cancer, Samia further wrote, “Those who have gone through this journey themselves know how difficult this fight is. I truly do not want anyone close to me to ever have to go through such a journey.”

“Please pray for me. May Allah make everything easy for me. Just like last time, may I be able to maintain my strength this time as well. I hope to return to a normal life very soon. Please keep me in your prayers.” she added.
