Memorable hospitality by Ethiopian Airlines

Last November, 2025, a professional assignment took me on an extraordinary journey from Dhaka to Brazil, across continents and cultures. Travelling as a media representative to cover a major global conference on climate change and international policy was exciting in itself, but the experience became even more memorable thanks to Ethiopian Airlines.

From the moment I boarded the flight in Dhaka, the journey offered a refreshing alternative to the conventional Middle Eastern or European transit routes. Our destination was Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s historic capital and home to Bole International Airport.

Despite the long journey, the airline’s comfortable cabin, cleanliness and attentive service helped ease the fatigue. The warm smiles and professionalism of the cabin crew created an immediate sense of hospitality. Throughout the flight, they remained attentive to passengers’ needs, offering assistance with genuine courtesy and efficiency.

The onboard dining experience was equally impressive. The menu featured a thoughtful combination of continental cuisine and Ethiopian flavours, served with elegant presentation. Ethiopian coffee, renowned worldwide for its rich aroma and distinctive taste, added a special touch to the journey.

Our 15-hour transit in Addis Ababa could have been exhausting, but Ethiopian Airlines transformed it into a welcome opportunity to rest. The airline arranged complimentary accommodation at a reputed hotel, along with airport transfers. After a smooth check-in, a spacious and comfortable room offered the perfect setting for much-needed rest. A generous buffet dinner featuring African, Middle Eastern and continental cuisine completed the experience. Arriving in Brazil felt like entering an entirely new world. Looking back, the journey was far more than simply travelling from one destination to another. Ethiopian Airlines turned a long intercontinental flight into an experience defined by comfort, hospitality and unforgettable memories.
