13th Asian Tourism Fair begins Sept 17

The 13th Asian Tourism Fair 2026 will begin in Dhaka on September 17, offering a wide range of travel packages, discounts and offers for domestic and international destinations.Organizers said the three-day fair will be held from September 17 to 19 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB). Around 200 tourism organizations from 10 countries will participate through 300 stalls.

Parjatan Bichitra organized a press conference on fair at a hotel in the capital on Monday. 

The fair will feature B2B sessions, destination and tourism product presentations, panel discussions, seminars, a children's art competition and cultural programmes by Bangladesh, Nepal and the Philippines. Hotels and resorts, airlines, cruise companies, tour operators, travel agencies, theme parks, government tourism bodies, and foreign embassies and missions will participate.

A major attraction will be the Bangladesh Tourism Investment Showcase, highlighting upcoming projects and investment opportunities in the sector. Organizers said increased investment is needed to develop Bangladesh's tourism industry and attract local and international investors.

Visitors can also join a raffle draw using entry coupons and win airline tickets and travel vouchers. The fair will remain open from 10am to 7pm daily. Entry fees Tk 30, while students can enter free by registering online.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines is the title sponsor. Thailand, the Philippines and the Maldives are partner countries. Crown Plaza Dhaka Airport is the Platinum Partner, while Crown Plaza Dhaka Gulshan is the Hospitality Partner. Chhuti Cox's Bazar, Bhaiya Hotels and Sukher Khamar are the co-sponsor, investment partner and agro-tourism partner respectively. Other partners include Convoy Service, M360, The Travel Bound, Dhaka Dinner Cruise and NRB Vistara Limited, while BoTF is the B2B networking partner.

The organizers said Bangladesh's natural beauty, rich culture, heritage, Sundarbans, Cox's Bazar beach, hills and historical sites make it a unique tourism destination. They aim to promote these attractions internationally and establish Bangladesh as a leading tourism destination in South Asia.

The fair is expected to be inaugurated by the Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism.
