CJ meets President at Bangabhaban

 The CJ  congratulated the president on assuming office. 

He briefed the president on various activities of Supreme Court, court management issues and existing challenges, President’s Press Secretary Md Sarwar Alam told the media.

CJ highlighted several problems facing the judiciary, including a growing case backlog, a shortage of skilled manpower and structural problems. He also sought the President’s cooperation in addressing these issues.

He said more cases were being filed every day than were being disposed of. As a result, clearing the existing backlog of cases was becoming almost impossible, he said.

President Mirza Fakhrul stressed the need to further expand and strengthen arbitration settlements and the village court system to reduce the case backlog.

He also assured the Chief Justice that necessary steps would be taken to address the existing problems in the judiciary.

The President’s Secretary, Military Secretary and Press Secretary were present during the meeting.
