Govt extends deadline to renew vehicle papers, driving license

The government has extended the deadline for renewing motor vehicle documents and driving licenses without paying fines.

Under the new decision, vehicle fitness certificates, tax tokens, route permits, and driving licenses can be updated without fines by paying the principal tax and fees until October 29 this year.

The Road Transport and Highways Division under the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges issued a notification in this regard on Sunday.

The notification stated that, with the concurrence of the Finance Division, the deadline for updating all types of motor vehicle documents and driving licenses by paying original taxes and fees without fines has been extended until October 29 for the final time. The order takes immediate effect.

As a result of the government decision, individuals and institutions that failed to renew their motor vehicle documents and driving licenses within the stipulated time will get a fresh opportunity. Essential documents can now be updated by paying the principal tax and fees within the extended timeframe.
