Police have arrested Bidisha Ershad, the second wife of late President and Jatiya Party founder Chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad, in connection with a fraud case in which she was sentenced to two years in prison.

Police confirmed that an arrest warrant had been pending against her.

She was arrested around 8:30 PM on Tuesday (August 25) from Arabica Restaurant in Gulshan, Dhaka.

Gulshan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Daud Hossain confirmed the arrest.

He stated that Bidisha Ershad received a two-year prison sentence in a fraud case and had a pending arrest warrant against her. Based on the warrant, police apprehended her from Arabica Restaurant under Gulshan Police Station tonight.
