Bomb blast in abandoned house

A hand bomb exploded inside an abandoned house in Madaripur on Wednesday (August 26) evening, blowing away a large section of its tin roof and walls.

The blast took place at the house in South Jhikrahati village of Ghatmaji Union under Madaripur Sadar upazila.

"The owner of the home, Aminul Islam Khan, lives in Khulna and has lived there for the last seven years. His house was in disrepair," Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle), Fariha Rafiq Bhavna, reported.

According to locals, an explosion happened from the locked house and later, smoke was seen coming out of the building. Also, pieces of the roof and walls made of tin were damaged by the blast.

Some policemen from Madaripur Sadar Model Police Station came to the spot after receiving news about it.
