Load shedding may reach 2,894MW on Saturday

Load shedding across the country may reach a maximum of 2,894 megawatts on Saturday as a significant power shortfall persists, according to Power Grid Bangladesh PLC data.

The highest level of load shedding is forecast at 5 PM.

The data shows that load shedding may rise from 1,003MW at 10 AM to 1,203MW at noon, before increasing sharply in the afternoon.

It is projected to reach 1,471MW at 2 PM, 2,483MW at 3 PM and 2,593MW at 4 PM.

Load shedding may ease to 2,216MW at 6 PM and 1,528MW at 6:30 PM before rising again to 2,770MW at 7 PM. It is forecast to stand at 2,550MW at 8 PM and 2,703MW at 9 PM.

At 9 PM, electricity demand is projected at 18,730MW against estimated generation of 15,900MW, according to the data.

By 10 PM, demand may fall to 17,970MW, while generation is projected at 15,700MW, leaving an estimated load shedding of 2,168MW.
