BD expats in Malaysia  advised to follow guidelines 

The Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur has advised Bangladeshi expatriates living and working in Malaysia to follow a set of guidelines issued by the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment.

The High Commission shared the advice in a Facebook post on Saturday, urging expatriates to remain cautious and comply with Malaysian laws and regulations.

The High Commission advised Bangladeshis to comply with the laws and regulations of Malaysia, workplace policies, local cyber laws, rules governing social media use, and religious, social and cultural values.

It also advised them to use social media for maintaining positive communication with family and friends and to follow workplace policies before sharing any information, photographs or videos related to their jobs, employers or workplaces.

The expatriates were also advised to remain cautious when dealing with strangers, unknown links, files or messages and to guard against scams and phishing attempts.

They were urged to use social media responsibly, verify information before sharing photographs or videos, and refrain from suspicious or provocative online activities.

The High Commission advised expatriates not to share, like, comment on or promote posts, photographs, videos or messages linked to terrorism, extremism or banned organisations.
