“Art is not a sin”: Prova

Famous TV actress Sadia Jahan Prova expressed her thoughts regarding the loss of values in the world of entertainment and the disrepectfulness towards artists and their profession on her Facebook account.

According to Prova, art is not only a career but also an identity and an element of culture. “When an identity has provided you with respect, recognition, wealth and people’s love, then before being ashamed of your identity, you need to first doubt your values,” said Prova.

Discussing the role of education and cultural values for those joining the cultural field, she further stated, “These words may sound harsh and unpleasant to many of you. But still I have to say this because I don’t want anyone to join this field without any education and values with ignorance and disrepect towards culture.”

She continued, “I want people to join this field with proper education, values, culture and above all respect towards their identity.”

Talking about the power of art and the respect towards artists, Prova said, “Because art is not a sin. Art is an identity and art is a culture and disrespecting an artist is not a virtue taught by a civilized society.”
